Wedding Tip Wednesday~Engagement Photos {Southern Montana Wedding Photographer}

I have missed a couple of weeks, I apologize! I am getting better though!

Today’s WTW (Wedding Tip Wednesday)  we are going to talk about engagement photos. To do them or not to to them, that is the question.

You know what I am going to say…

DO IT!

The thing with engagement photos, is not only do they give you photos for your save the date cards and/or magnets (more on that in another post, I LOVE this idea!), your guestbook (another great idea!) they also help you get to know your photographer.

We get a chance to shoot together and we get to know one another before we are spending an entire day together. You learn my quirks and how I work (don’t move until I tell you! haha). I get to know you as a couple, we talk about how you met, when you “knew”, and what you are comfortable with as far as poses go.

Some couples are very comfortable with each other, and being silly. I love this and we can really get some good candid photos during the engagement session. Then when it comes to the wedding day, you and I are pals, we know how to joke around to get natural smiles. I know what poses I can put on my list. What poses I need to avoid.

Do I NEED to the photographer that takes your engagement photos, most certainly not. However, it does help to have those moments together before your big day. If I am not, please still get engagement photos. Especially for you grooms, this gives you a bit of an idea of what it is like in front of the camera. It really isn’t all that bad!

Getting married in 2023?! I am now booking and I do not take many weddings! Contact me today so we can build your perfect day!
