When I met H she was my dental hygienist. Not joking. My friend had met her previously and my friend told me to ask H when she was getting engaged. I didn’t know the story at the time, but I am always up for a good ribbing.
When I said something, she replied, “Did Julie tell you to ask me?” and laughed. It was a great way to start conversation. She and her boyfriend had been together for a few years and she was patiently, or not so patiently, waiting to get engaged. H was looking for clues, hoping the time was coming.
I visited the dentist a lot that summer (it was not a good year for my teeth) and each time I would casually look at her left hand hoping to see a ring. No dice. It didn’t help that I told her that my husband and I waited seven years to get engaged. She didn’t think she could wait that long.
Then, one day last fall I got the call. “When are you available in April, we got engaged!!” I was so excited for her. It was finally happening for her and I knew exactly how she felt.
Leading up to the day of the wedding, we had some nice days and some not so nice days. All we wanted was for it not to snow, I mean, it’s Minnesota, you never know.
Our wish was granted and the day was beautiful. Windy, COLD, but sunny and beautiful. J & H toughed out the wind and we got some wonderful photos outside. The ceremony was sweet with the church filled with people that loved them
And at the end of the day, they were finally married. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day, J&H!
