Oh fall weddings, how I adore thee! This wedding weekend was something to remember. Earlier in the summer southern Minnesota had a huge flood. Then we kept getting more and more rain. The weekend of this wedding my kids and I planned on camping with two other families. As we enjoyed supper and outdoor movies, we noticed the river rising steadily.
A police officer stopped by our campsites and let us know that we may have to evacuate if the river kept rising. Great. I tore my tent down and planned on bunking in one of the campers.
Around 11pm we saw that the river was almost to the road, and if it got there, they were going to kick us out! We made the group decision to bail then, rather than wait until 3am. What a night!
I got up the next morning and prepped for the wedding. I borrowed some muck boots from my friend because I knew it was going to be a bit wet at the farm!
However, it turned out to be a beautiful day! The wind was a bit blustery, but it dried up most of where people would be walking so it worked out perfectly.
Get ready for some photo overload!
Amanda’s parents (where the reception was held) had this really cool party barn set with bar and everything.
This first look with Amanda’s dad got to me. I cry a lot more when the father does too!!
First look in the cow barn? Yes please!
Of course we had to get a photo with a cow!
Amanda, you are stunning!
She had an amazing tribe of women surrounding her.
Oh dad, that got me going again!
I always have my couple stop and kiss right before they leave the sanctuary.
The details were amazing at the reception. They had scoured countless antique stores for the place settings.
Absolutely beautiful weather!
The cake was too cute!
Quick stop at the local watering hole!
Real linens and silverware. You don’t see that often in an outdoor reception. So great!
Steaks. They had me at steaks!
Speeches were great!
The first dance under the barn tent.
Again with the tears! I love it <3
Oh these sunset shots almost didn’t happen. The food was a little late being made and I was watching the sun fall steadily. I had to grab them from their plates (of steak no less!) to run down the road.
Totally worth it.
You guys were amazing! Couldn’t think of a better way to spend my birthday weekend! Thank you, Amanda and Dylan, for allowing us to be a part of your day!
