Erika & James~ Chilly day for I do {Montana Photographer}

I met Erika at the Mankato bridal show Jan. 2018 and we decided to get together to discuss her ideas and plans. The three of us met at a diner and share fries and funny stories. I love getting to know my couples this way. Food always brings people together.

I was thrilled that they had chosen my team and I to capture their day. As the months wore on, and plans were made, it turned out that they would not only be my last 2018 wedding, but my last shoot in MN before our move. I soaked in the whole day.

It was COLD. For Oct. 20, it was freezing. However, they were troopers and we got some amazing photos that day.

Taking photos in stained glass was different for me, but fun!

Oh I love the letters. Erika laughed, cried and shared some of the words James had written her. So sweet.

We ventured outside for the first look. Inside the gazebo.

The nerves <3

The light and colors that day were perfection.

Their tribe was a hoot!

The ceremony got off to a rocky start. Partly my fault. I had taken photos of the rings and the box earlier in the day. I automatically put the rings in the box. Apparently, that was not where they needed to be. Oops! There was a minor delay as we rushed out to the car and retrieved the rings. My heart was in my throat the whole time!

This pastor was awesome. She had a sense of humor and I loved it!

Bar stop!

Delicious dessert!

Being a Lake Superior nut, I loved the driftwood pieces.

Lots of tears during speeches!

First dance vibes….

Erika’s dad reminded me of my own. I cried. Alot.

This golden light though!!

Congratulations, Erika and James! Thank you, thank you for letting us being a part of your day! It was a great way to spend my last day in Minnesota.
