Wedding Timelines~ Why?? {Montana Wedding Photographer}

I am pretty sure I have covered this in the past. However, it is so important to understand.

Your wedding day happens once. You can’t get that day back.

This is why I live and breathe by a timeline at every wedding I shoot.

Not only does your photographer need to know what photos are being done when, but they also need to know your plan.

Are you going bar hopping after the ceremony?

Are you doing a first look?

It is also super helpful for the rest of the wedding party and family members.

They need to know where and when they need to be ready for portraits.

Do they need their hair done super early?

Are they traveling to a different location?

I, myself, like to block out big chunks of time for portraits. A lot of the time we are held up for one reason or another and I would rather have some down time for snacking (don’t forget to eat!) then be rushed and late for the ceremony.

Timelines are big for me. I love working in these with my couples. Each wedding is different, each couple has different needs and desires for their day.

Don’t be afraid to ask your photographer for a timeline. Especially if they haven’t brought it up yet. This is crucial for your sanity, and your photographer’s sanity 🙂
