~J&D~ Say “I Do” September 2, 2017 Wedding {Southern Minnesota Traveling Photographer}

When I spoke to J about her and D’s wedding, I knew it was right up my alley. She has been cattle farming with her dad her whole life, and I have a fondness for livestock. I met with her  and her dad one afternoon and while we talked about her grandmother’s pasture, good people, and cattle, I got more excited about the wedding day.

I showed up early, as usual, and hung out with J and her girls. D was down the street, and once we figured out where, my second was headed over there. They were a fun group of guys.

The details:

Decorations:
We did the table decorations ourselves. My dad cut the wood slabs from our own trees. The mason jars were a compilation of my Grandma Hanson and my mothers collection from days of canning. Many of the signage was purchased at Hobby Lobby. A to Zinnia did the head table backdrop and canopy over the dance floor.

Florist:

Bride’s Gown:
Sisters Bridal & Tux in New Ulm, MN

Bridesmaids’ dresses:
Amazon! Super steal and and they were comfy!

Groom and groomsmen:
Guys wore Cody James jeans from Boot Barn Dress shirts were Van Huesen brand And black sports coats, Merona brand from Target.

Paper:
I used Wedding Paper Divas, which is now a part of Shutterfly. I loved that the design matched our The Knot Wedding Website

Cake:
Cakes by Jenna

I grew up with a love of sunflowers. At one time my whole bedroom was covered in them. So I hold a special place in my heart for them. Plus, the boots! Oh how I love me some cowboy boots!

This little nugget wanted to be a part of everything. I love how she is looking up at J with such adoration.

Those moments between mother and daughter are some of my favorites.

We ventured out to J’s grandmother’s pasture for the first look and portraits. We tucked ourselves into this grove for her bridal’s and it was so worth it!

Stunning.

Give me a dirt road, and I would love to do a first look there!

We then walked up the end of the road right into the pasture. J’s family cows are show cattle, so they got pretty close…

We had to chase this particular cow away a few times 😉

Cows + film = <3

This bridal party was such a blast to work with!

Loved these pasture shots!

Oh how cute are these two?!

We took a small walk before heading to the church and found a junk pile. LOVE!

The get-away vehicle was a tractor with a hay ride for the bridal party.

Any cool thing I can put the rings on, I will 🙂

The church was PACKED for this couple. You could just see how much they are loved.

<3

It certainly was fun following this crew to the first stop!

I loved this brick wall, and took the chance I could to get some photos of D and his new bling!

Bar photos are a blast!

The details at the reception site were gorgeous and certainly represented the couple.

Yummm cake! The cupcakes were made by the bride.

I love when a bridal party makes their entrance unique

The speeches are so much fun. Listening to their favorite people share funny and loving stories.

This best man speech though…was awesome!

Then the father of the bride had to share some words. He is a man with many, and it was so heartfelt.

From the bride:
We could not have asked for a more gorgeous day to celebrate the beginning of our forever! Although, typically Labor Day weekend is spent at a cattle show, we still had our cattle fix, capturing photos in the pasture. We were so overwhelmed by the love and support of our family and friends. It was so fun to see our church sanctuary completely full! It was a very special day and we’ll cherish it forever, even though we were both exhausted by 8:30 pm! 🙂

Thank you J and D for allowing my team and I to capture your day! It was amazing and you two are so perfectly matched. May blessings find you in your marriage.

Getting married in 2018? I still have a few openings left! If your day isn’t until 2019, it is never too early to book your photographer!
