Meeting wedding couples is super fun for me. I get to hear about how they met, see how they interact together and get a feel how their day will go. This is why I love engagement sessions.
T & D told me they wanted their engagement photos with snow. I was totally game. Let me tell you something. It may be cold, but snow photographs beautifully. Not only that, but the owner of this beautiful property was looking to have some winter photos taken at his place. Again, totally game.
I am not going to lie, it was NOT one of those warm winter days we have been used to seeing. However, we had some beautiful snow draped trees.
Their story:
“Travis was new to the area as he had taken a teaching job at the school I graduated from – Central MN Christian in Prinsburg. He had started attending the same church I did and so that is when I first saw him around. We met officially for the first time back in March of this year at a restaurant in Willmar, where we were sort of “set up” by my sister and brother-in-law and their friends Derrick and Jessica (who were good friends with Travis and now dear friends of ours!) The 6 of us went out to eat and Travis and I didn’t talk hardly at all. A few weeks later Derrick and Jessica and Travis and I went out again where this time Travis and I had more of a chance to talk! A few days later Travis had come into Willmar for groceries and before he left he called and asked if I wanted to grab some ice cream!…” We went to Culvers and stayed until they kicked us out at 10:30. Since then, ice cream dates became a weekly thing for us! We started spending a lot of time together and got to know each other very quick and knew from the beginning that this wasn’t just another relationship! This coming Monday, (November 14) will just be our 6 month dating anniversary but it feels like we have known each other our whole lives! He proposed on October 31 which came as no surprise to our families after seeing how happy we are together! We still try to make ice cream dates happen every so often but they aren’t quite as frequent as they were in the beginning! We love to just hang out and chat with each other about anything and everything whether we chat over ice cream or on a walk! Travis is a HUGE sports fan where I, on the other hand, not quite as much! I grew up with 3 sisters so sports were never a big thing in my family. Travis and I jokingly had an agreement that I would watch football as long as he would watch some chick flicks (I mean who can say no to the Notebook- right?) So far he hasn’t made me sit through any football games but we have watched a handful of chick flicks! He is old fashioned and a charmer – still opens the car door for me, sends flowers to me at work, stops by with chocolate when I’m having a bad day and is quite a good cook! We are both SO excited to start our lives together and think we make a pretty great team!

They were full of laughs and it made me giggle too.
Originally I wanted to do hot cocoa and a little fire. But due to some scheduling conflicts that didn’t work out. We did, however, get the cocoa, and I am thrilled with these images!
They have watched all of the “Friends” episodes and D got T to watch “Gilmore Girls” (someone after my own heart!) I was thrilled to see their mugs!
When you are in a winter wonderland, aren’t you suppose to have a little fun?!
Oh these two were a lot of fun and I am super excited for their June wedding! At least we know it will be a little warmer 😉
